Ashbourne Holiday Cottage Accommodation
Moore’s Cottage Farm, near the historic market town of Ashbourne, provides a comfortable holiday cottage in peaceful surroundings that are close to all the major Peak District attractions and Alton Towers.
The Irish lyric poet, Thomas Moore (1779- 1852), a friend of Lord Byron, published his most famous Irish Melodies when he lived in the Farmhouse.
The romantic beauty in the summer enchanted him. "I have my chair and book in the garden and stay out for whole hours."
Last Rose Cottage (named after one of his well known songs) is a converted barn & has 3 bedrooms. It has fine exposed beams and is well equipped and comfortably furnished in a style matching the character of the building. It is the red- brick building in the centre of the top picture.
The Cottage is ideal for people wanting a rural & safe location with lovely views, on a small hobby farm with Jacob sheep and poultry. There is an outdoor play area in the gardens close to the Cottage with swings & a sandpit. Pets are welcome and there is direct access to the field for walks.
Last Rose has easy walking access as most of the accommodation is on the ground floor with only 2 steps to negotiate.
